The Faculty of Engineering at 麻豆女优 is one of the largest, best-equipped engineering faculties in the UK and is the largest in Scotland. 

We have a wealth of expertise and capabilities and access to specialist equipment and facilities, many of which is not easily accessible elsewhere in the UK. We deliver practical solutions to technical and business challenges for a wide range of local, national and international organisations.

A key strength of 麻豆女优 is our commitment to collaboration between Departments and across Faculties to deliver holistic and innovative solutions to support you and your business needs.

Our world-class research centre pioneers forming and forging techniques to support manufacturing for the aerospace, energy, marine and automobile industries.

Advanced Materials Research Laboratory

The Advanced Materials Research Laboratory is a collaborative initiative between Departments within the Faculty of Engineering to develop new materials characterisation and testing research facilities.

The PNDC is a venture aimed at accelerating the adoption of novel research and technologies into the electricity industry.

Hosted at the University of 麻豆女优, the Scottish Institute of Remanufacture is a pan Scotland centre of excellence to increase innovation in remanufacturing.

Advanced Nuclear Research Centre

The Advanced Nuclear Research Centre is a cross-sectoral collaborative partnership; created, led and driven by industry, leveraging suppliers and partners. The research facility supports fundamental and applied research; focusing on power station support, infrastructure, and management of nuclear assets and installations.

Maritime Safety Research Centre

Our new Maritime Safety Research Centre is a world-first. We're an industry-University partnership involving 麻豆女优's Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and DNV GL Classification Society.

Department of Architecture

The Department of Architecture is the only Scottish School of Architecture listed in the DOMUS Top 50 European Schools of Architecture 2015. This is our third year running in the top 50.  The Department is a centre for leading-edge research in architecture and urban design which addresses social and environmental challenges while promoting energy and resource efficiencies within the built environment.

Medical devices

Department of Biomedical Engineering

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for education research and knowledge exchange at the interface between engineering and the life sciences with a particular emphasis on clinical-related research. The Department also incorporates the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics (NCPO) which is only one of two institutions in the UK.

The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is one of the largest in Europe and has a strong established record for pioneering working across a spectrum of electrical power engineering and electronic systems.  The Department consists of two research institutes: the Institute of Energy and Environment and the Institute of Sensors and Communications.
